Anders Johnson and Christopher Hay first met at Clackamas Community College, where Anders was studying Mechanical Engineering and Chris pursued Accounting. Their collaboration began when Anders developed an idea for the InventOR competition and sought a partner with strong business acumen. After months of refining their concept and pitch, the team earned first place at Clackamas Community College and went on to achieve fourth place at the regional competition.

Anders Johnson, a dual Canadian–American citizen, brings a global perspective to his designs, shaped by years of travel and professional experience abroad. With a decade of work in the technology sector, his approach blends creativity with practical engineering insight. Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Industrial Design, Anders draws inspiration from functionality, precision, and innovation. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf and hockey.

Christopher Hay, an Oregonian at heart, Christopher has always had an interest in helping others. He found that Anchor Designs was his way of giving back and helping others, live their best lives. By studying Accounting, he is able to bring a solid business background, enriching the potential that Anchor has. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, learning the drums, rock carving, and silversmithing.
